Because the care and safety of our clients is our primary responsibility, including maintaining a client’s right to privacy and confidentiality, Northern Rivers requires all media representatives to schedule interviews and photography requests ahead of time by contacting the Communications department. After the request is received, a Communications manager will quickly determine whether an interview is possible and, when possible, will coordinate the arrangements, including meeting and accompanying the media representative during the visit.

No photos or video of clients may be taken without a Communications manager first securing written permission from the clients’ parent or guardian.

Northern Rivers strictly follows the American Hospital Association's guidelines regarding patient privacy issues contained in the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) as well as the U.S. Department of Education-endorsed Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
